Though the department has a limited area for the library, it has very useful and rare books. The library belongs to the Special Library and books have been divided according to the subject apart from U.D.C or D.D.C method. It has a spatiality when according to Chemistry.

  13. Apart from the above magazines and journals the library has a set magazines published before 50 years. Because of this experimental officers, university students, law students and analysts use our library with the permission of the Government Analyst. Books are not been allowed to take out of the department but can get photocopied according to the necessity.

What's New

A new division was established

In 1935, a new division was established to examine forensic questioned documents, which was named as Government Questioned Document Division.

It is significant to note that the government analyst establishment was formed into a separate Government Department on July 1913. In 1940, the first Ceylonese Government Analyst Mr. W.R. Chanmugam was appointed.
